Franna Tate Elmore B.F.A.

Impressionism and realism meld together to portray the creative work of Franna Tate Elmore. Her paintings celebrate life with color and light.  Joy is revealed through critical attention to detail.  Acute awareness is vividly recounted in everyday beauty. It is the small things in life that bestow such joys.  Franna's work can be summed up by James F. Clarke, "If I cannot do great things, I can do small things in a great way.”

In portraits, Franna is adept in unveiling the inner character of those she paints.  She captures the beauty of European to stateside destinations with Plein Air painting.  She has received instruction from notable artists such as Jean Perry, Gay Faulkenberrry and Joseph Mendez and continues to broaden and exact techniques through various means and subjects.  Her portfolio is comprised of florals, still life, portraits, architectural designs and landscapes.

Franna explains her talent this way, “Everyone has a God given gift.  Some people begin to write and the words flow.  I see a photograph or scene and simply paint it. God has given me the natural innate ability to paint what I see."

While growing up in Oklahoma, Franna enjoyed friends and drawing but the majority of her time was dedicated to sports.  However, her concentration turned to art while attending Oklahoma Christian University where she earned a B.A. in Fine Arts.  College provided a time of intense practice and exploration of various mediums of art.  Franna is a member of the Kappa Pi Honor Society.

After college, she continued to focus on art as well as her family.  Mike, her husband, and daughter, Reese, are her strongest supporters.   She is a member of the Oklahoma Art Guild and the Central Oklahoma Art Association.  Franna’s award winning work is on display at galleries, art shows and personal collections.

The work of Franna Tate Elmore has been described as "joyful, distinctly beautiful, noteworthy art that will only increase in collectability."
